* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning today: Heavy snow. Snow accumulations between 1 to 2 feet above 7,000 feet and up to 3 feet at the highest peaks. 2 to 6 inches below 7,000 feet. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. Ridge wind gusts will reach up to 125 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch Sunday-Tuesday: Heavy snow with 3-8 inches below 7000 feet and 1 to 3 feet above 7000 feet. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 AM this morning to 10 PM PST Saturday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening and Monday morning commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
