Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. In west central Florida, Hillsborough. * WHEN...Until 1145 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 939 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... St Johns River Near Astor affecting Lake and Volusia Counties. .The St Johns River Near Astor is forecast to remain in Minor Flood Stage through tomorrow due to light northeasterly winds and periods of locally heavy rainfall. Should persistent locally heavy rainfall develop over the basin, additional rises will be possible. The river is expected to peak in Minor Flood Stage Friday afternoon before decreasing into Action Stage through the weekend. For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Minor flooding is forecast. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued Friday afternoon at 1215 PM EDT. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...St Johns River near Astor. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 2.3 feet, Many docks become submerged along the river and in canals in the Astor community. Water enters yards of properties on Bartram Road, Holiday Circle and along Wild Hog Road on the Lake County side. In Volusia County, water encroaches yards of homes on the river side of Alice Drive. No wake zones are in effect from near the South Moon Canal to approximately 800 feet south of the Riverview lodge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 2.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 2.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM EDT Thursday was 2.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 2.5 feet Friday. Additional information is available at https://water.weather.gov/wfo/JAX * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Santa Fe River at Three Rivers Estates. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Lowland flooding begins on SW Santa Fe Drive south of Santa Fe Road in Columbia County. At 16.3 feet, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission begins enforcement of a no wake zone on the Santa Fe River from the unnamed island 1.5 miles downstream of the Wilson's Spring Boat Ramp to the confluence with the Suwannee River and on the Ichetucknee River upstream to the US 27 bridge. At 17.0 feet, Water begins to enter backyards of residences on Santa Fe Road in Columbia County and on River Run Road in Suwannee County. At 18.0 feet, Water begins to flood River Run Road in Suwannee County. At 18.8 feet, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission expands the no wake zone restriction further upstream on the Santa Fe River from the unnamed island 1.5 miles downstream on the Wilson's Spring Boat Ramp to one-half mile upstream of the State Road 47 bridge. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of the Florida Big Bend and the Eastern Florida Panhandle including the following counties, Bay, Franklin, Liberty, Calhoun, Walton, Holmes, Gulf, Jackson, and Washington. * WHEN...From 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ Friday through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding, especially in urbanized locations, leading to flooded roads and flooding in low lying areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A prolonged period of rainfall, some of which will be heavy at times, will overspread the Florida Panhandle and portions of the Florida Big Bend late tonight and continuing through Saturday. Heavy rainfall rates in the strongest storms could lead to flash flooding, especially in urban communities located along the immediate coast. The heaviest rainfall amounts are possible nearest the coast with 4 to 6 inches of rain with isolated maximum amounts up to 10 inches possible. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Recent heavy rainfall has saturated grounds and created elevated stream flow across coastal southeast Georgia and portions of northeast Florida.
