This is done to help with preparing for severe weather that may overlap or be heading towards Tahoe Donner.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Flood Advisory issued November 25 at 9:32PM PST until November 26 at 1:30AM PST by NWS Hanford CA

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central California, including the following county, Kern. * WHEN...Until 130 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 930 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen in the last 6 hours. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. Winter Storm Warning issued November 25 at 8:48PM PST until November 27 at 4:00PM PST by NWS Hanford CA

* WHAT...Heavy snow Sierra Nevada above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 5 feet. Higher elevation could see up to 6 feet of snow. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...A portion of central California. * WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall will increase again overnight for the region.

Beach Hazards Statement issued November 25 at 8:17PM PST until November 28 at 10:00PM PST by NWS San Francisco CA

* WHAT...A long period south swell will result in an energetic surf zone and increasing risk of sneaker waves and rip currents with breaking waves up to 10 to 14 ft. * WHERE...San Francisco, Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast Counties. * WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions. Large waves can sweep across the beach without warning, pulling people into the sea from rocks, jetties, and beaches. Sudden immersion in cold water can result in cold water shock even for the most experienced swimmers. Cold water shock can result in dramatic changes in breathing, heart rate and blood pressure, greatly increasing the risk of drowning in rough open waters.

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 32 possible. * WHERE...Humboldt Coast, and Mendocino Coast. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 2 feet from 7000 to 8500 feet, 3 to 5 feet along the crest, and around 6 feet at the highest peaks. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Eastern Sierra Slopes. * WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel will become difficult to impossible due to snow and blowing snow. Roof damage is possible due to the weight of heavy snow.

Winter Weather Advisory issued November 25 at 2:42PM PST until November 27 at 10:00AM PST by NWS Las Vegas NV

* WHAT...Snow expected above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 14 inches, higher amounts possible near the peaks. * WHERE...White and Inyo Mountains. * WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roads will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult at times. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will begin between 6000 to 7000 feet this morning and increase to 8000 to 9000 feet by this evening then fall to 6000 to 7000 feet again Tuesday evening through Tuesday night.

Winter Storm Warning issued November 25 at 2:27PM PST until November 27 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Sacramento CA

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 5500 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches and up to 1-2 feet along higher peaks. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Snow-covered roads, chain controls and travel delays are likely which will result in very difficult travel at times above 5500 feet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of moderate to heavy snow through early Wednesday morning. Snow levels rising to 6000 to 7000 feet in the Sierra this afternoon, then lowering 4000-5000 feet throughout the day on Tuesday. 2 to 5 inches of snow possible down to around 5000 feet.

Ridge winds gusting as high as 65 mph. * WHERE...Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be tonight into Tuesday morning.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet, 1 to 4 inches at lake level, and 4 to 12 inches west of Lake Tahoe. Ridge winds gusting as high as 90 mph. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph and wave heights 1 to 3 feet on Lake Tahoe. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines due to the expected heavy wet nature of the snow. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be Tuesday morning.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet with areas near the Sierra crest receiving 3 feet or more. Below 7500 feet, snow accumulations of 1 to 8 inches. Ridge winds gusting as high as 95 mph. * WHERE...Mono County. * WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday and Tuesday commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines due to the expected heavy wet nature of the snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be Tuesday morning.

Winter Storm Warning issued November 25 at 3:53AM PST until November 26 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Medford OR

* WHAT...Additional snow accumulations between 6 to 8 inches above 4000 ft and 10 to 16 inches above 5000 ft. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Portions of south central Siskiyou County above 4000 feet, including Snowmans Summit and Dead Horse Summit along Highway 89 and Mount Shasta Ski Road. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There will be a break in snowfall through the day today as temperatures remain above freezing, but temperatures are expected to drop again tonight with additional snowfall expected.

Air Quality Alert issued November 24 at 10:05AM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ

The Imperial County Air Pollution Control District has declared a mandatory wood burning curtailment for residents within the Calexico area for Monday, November 25, 2024. The declaration of a Mandatory curtailment, when forecast indicate elevated levels of fine particulate air pollution in the region, is issued to protect the public health. Smoke from wood burning can cause health problems. Breathing high levels of pollution from wood smoke can cause breathing problems (including asthma attacks), worsened lung and heart disease symptoms, and may even increase emergency room visits and hospitalizations. The Mandatory Curtailment rule prohibits the operation of any wood burning appliances during the curtailment period. This prohibition does not apply to cookstoves and those devices exclusively gaseous- fueled.
