Flood Warning

Flood Warning issued November 17 at 9:04AM EST until November 22 at 1:00AM EST by NWS Charleston SC

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Edisto River near Givhans Ferry. * WHEN...Until early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, most homes on Happiness Lane are accessible only by boat. Flooding also occurs along roadways south of Highway 17 Alternate including Martins Landing Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 830 AM EST Sunday, the stage was 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Thursday afternoon and continue falling to 9.6 feet Friday morning. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

Although areas of fog continue to slowly dissipate this morning, fog will continue to persist near and along area lakes and rivers through 10 am. Motorists should be prepared for rapid reductions in visibility near any of these bodies of water.

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected along shorelines and tidal waterways (9.9 to 10.1 feet Mean Lower Low Water at Fort Pulaski). * WHERE...Beaufort, Coastal Jasper, and coastal southeast Georgia. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Saltwater inundation will impact some roads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 8:45 AM this morning at Fort Pulaski. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide.

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected along shorelines and tidal waterways (7.8 to 8.0 feet Mean Lower Low Water at Charleston). * WHERE...Coastal Colleton and Charleston Counties. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...This will result in some roads becoming impassable and minor flooding of properties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 8:45 AM this morning at Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide.

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Coastal Horry and Coastal Georgetown Counties. * WHEN...From 6 AM to 11 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Vulnerable causeways to and from local beaches will experience minor coastal flooding. Low-lying roads and locations along the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent tidal creeks will observe minor coastal flooding. Check with local officials for the latest information regarding coastal flood impacts and closures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Affected areas listed are based on average tide conditions. Additional locations may experience flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, high winds, or other factors.
