Red Flag Warning issued October 3 at 2:25AM PDT until October 3 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Portland OR

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire Weather Zone 686 Northern Oregon Cascade Foothills, Fire Weather Zone 688 Mt. Hood National Forest Region and Fire Weather Zone 689 Northern Willamette National Forest. In Washington, Fire Weather Zone 636 Western Columbia River Gorge in Oregon and Washington. This includes the southern part of the Gifford-Pinchot, Mount Hood and northern part of the Willamette National Forests. * WINDS...East 10 to 15 mph with gusts 20 to 30 mph. Strongest winds will be around and in the western Columbia River Gorge. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...15 to 25 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions may be favorable for rapid fire spread which may threaten life and property. Use extra caution with potential ignition sources, especially in grassy areas. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...Winds will ease tonight, but poor overnight recoveries are expected on the slopes and ridges, with maximum humidity of 35 to 50 percent expected.
