* WHAT...Snow expected. Snowfall accumulations have been highly elevation dependent. Total snow accumulations of 2-4 inches at elevations above 500 feet, with locally higher amounts above 1000 feet. Elsewhere, total accumulations will be less than 2 inches. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Western Passaic County. In New York, Northern Westchester, Orange, Putnam, and Rockland Counties. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. Isolated tree damage and power outages are possible due to heavy wet snow load.

HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow. Snowfall was measured at the rate of 1-2 inches under this band. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 316 AM EST, a band of heavy snow was over Guilford, or 8 miles south of Norwich moving west at 20 MPH. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... Norwich, Kirkwood, Conklin, Sidney, Walton, Guilford, Sanford, Colchester, Plymouth, and North Norwich. This includes the following highway exits... New York Interstate 81 between 1 and 3. Interstate 86/Route 17 between 75 and 84. Interstate 88 between 3 and 11. SAFETY INFO... Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

* WHAT...Snow, heavy at times. Totals will be highly elevation dependent. Accumulations of 1-4 inches in valley locations with totals of 6-12 inches above 1,500 feet. Totals of 12 to 16 inches in the highest elevations. * WHERE...Portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Snowfall rates overnight of 1-2 inches per hour across Western portions of the Catskills moving west to around I-81 toward rush hour. Heavy snowfall could bring down trees and wires due to the weight of the snow.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will mix with and change to snow over the mid Hudson Valley and southern Taconics between midnight and 3 am. The wet snow will continue through the morning commute before changing back to rain in the late morning.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will mix with and then change to snow tonight and continue through Friday. Periods of snow are expected across lower elevations as well with amounts generally 5 inches or less.

The weight of the snow could lead to downed trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will mix with and then change to snow tonight and continue into Friday afternoon before tapering off.
