* WHAT...Snow expected above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 14 inches, higher amounts possible near the peaks. * WHERE...White and Inyo Mountains. * WHEN...From 4 AM Monday to 10 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roads will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult at times. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will begin between 6000 to 7000 feet Monday morning and increase to 8000 to 9000 feet by Monday evening then fall to 6000 to 7000 feet again Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night.

Winter Storm Warning issued November 24 at 1:44PM PST until November 27 at 10:00AM PST by NWS Las Vegas NV

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 2 feet below 8500 feet, 3 to 5 feet along the crest, and around 6 feet at the highest peaks. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Eastern Sierra Slopes. * WHEN...From 4 AM Monday to 10 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel will become difficult to impossible due to snow and blowing snow. Roof damage is possible due to the weight of heavy snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will begin between 6000 to 7000 feet Monday morning and increase to 8000 to 9000 feet by Monday evening then fall to 6000 to 7000 feet again Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. Peak snowfall rates could approach 2 inches per hour.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 5500 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet and up to 3 feet along higher peaks. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Snow-covered roads, chain controls and travel delays are likely which will result in very difficult travel at times above 5500 feet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Brief lull in snow continues through this afternoon. Periods of moderate to heavy snow return this evening through early Wednesday morning. Snow levels 4000-5000 feet today, increasing to 5000-6500 feet on Monday, then lowering 4000-5000 feet on Tuesday. 2 to 5 inches of snow possible down to around 5000 feet.

* WHAT...South winds gusting up to 45 mph. * WHERE...Del Norte County, Humboldt Interior, and Southwestern Humboldt. * WHEN...Until 7 PM PST this evening. * IMPACTS...Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Ridge winds gusting as high as 90 mph. * WHERE...Mono County. * WHEN...From 4 AM Monday to 4 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday and Tuesday commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines due to the expected heavy wet nature of the snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be Tuesday morning.

Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow impacting Highway 3 at Scott Mountain Pass.

Air Quality Alert

Air Quality Alert issued November 24 at 10:05AM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ

The Imperial County Air Pollution Control District has declared a mandatory wood burning curtailment for residents within the Calexico area for Monday, November 25, 2024. The declaration of a Mandatory curtailment, when forecast indicate elevated levels of fine particulate air pollution in the region, is issued to protect the public health. Smoke from wood burning can cause health problems. Breathing high levels of pollution from wood smoke can cause breathing problems (including asthma attacks), worsened lung and heart disease symptoms, and may even increase emergency room visits and hospitalizations. The Mandatory Curtailment rule prohibits the operation of any wood burning appliances during the curtailment period. This prohibition does not apply to cookstoves and those devices exclusively gaseous- fueled. * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following county, central Sonoma. * WHEN...Until 400 AM PST Monday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 627 AM PST, emergency management reported flooding along Mark West Creek near Mirabel Heights. - Mark West Creek near Mirabel Heights is expected to recede out of flood stage early Monday morning - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Total snow accumulations up to 24 inches for remote parts of Mount Shasta. 8 to 12 inches of snow for Snowmans Summit and Dead Horse Summit on Highway 89. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Portions of south central Siskiyou County above 4000 feet, including Snowmans Summit and Dead Horse Summit along Highway 89 and Mount Shasta Ski Road. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 4 AM PST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snowfall, up to 2" per hour, will fall generally between 4 pm and 9 pm on Sunday. The second wave with rates around 1" per hour will occur Monday morning.
