Northway Warnings, Watches and Advisories
SAFETY and DATA MESSAGE
Do not drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water depth or fast flowing water/mud/debris from a flash flood will make road conditions unsafe. Do not rely soley on data presented here or other third-party websites - always check your official national and local weather service agency website, socials, radio and/or TV stations for making critical decisions related to weather events.
Please carefully read each posted Warning and Alert as it relates to the area(s) being affected. We may provide a wider range of issued severe weather warnings for surrounding cities and counties, so some alerts may not directly impact this location. This is done to help with preparing for severe weather that may overlap or be heading towards Northway.

...LONG DURATION SNOW EVENT FOR PORTIONS OF THE PANHANDLE... .Low pressure is developing over the NE Gulf of Alaska and will then remain relatively stationary through Tuesday. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow characteristic will begin as dry and fine ice crystals, then will increase in moisture over time. Expect snow rates to remain consistent throughout the event with around 4 inches falling over 12 hour periods. There is potential for snow to last longer into Wednesday.

Special Weather Statement
Special Weather Statement issued November 25 at 2:48PM AKST by NWS Juneau AK
A weak low pressure has successfully set up in the NE Gulf and bands of snow are beginning to move into the panhandle. Most areas of the panhandle will see snow, with areas near Juneau at highest risk for greatest accumulations. Temperatures are expected to warm briefly for the middle of the week, but colder air is expected to move back into the panhandle just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. This colder air will allow what precipitation that does fall during this time to remain as snow. At the moment, accumulations for the latter half of the week do not look to be significant. However, there is now a widespread of possible solutions, some of which have an additional system moving in for the west. Currently, the more likely solution is northerly outflow winds will increase, pushing any potential system south of the panhandle. If the system does not pass south, then the central inner channels to possibly southern panhandle could see higher snow accumulations.
