Winter Storm Warning issued November 5 at 2:34PM AKST until November 5 at 9:00PM AKST by NWS Juneau AK

...SNOW FOR THE KLONDIKE HIGHWAY... .Warm air aloft and southwesterly flow is expected to move over colder air at the surface. This overrunning is expected to bring accumulating snow to the northern panhandle, specifically the higher elevations of the Klondike Highway. Warmer air close to the surface is expected to move in and allow for a switch to a mix of rain and snow near sea level. * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Municipality of Skagway. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is expected to start out lighter and fluffier on Tuesday before becoming more wet and heavy by Tuesday evening. Little or no snow accumulation is expected in Skagway.
