Special Weather Statement issued October 17 at 3:01PM EDT by NWS Marquette MI

Southerly winds could gust as high as 40 mph later this evening into the overnight hours, mainly along the Lake Superior shore including the cities of Big Bay and Marquette. Wind gusts are then expected to diminish into the 25 to 30 mph range late tonight. Use extra caution when driving tonight, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle, and secure all outdoor objects.
