Rip Current Statement issued November 5 at 10:52AM AST until November 5 at 6:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT...Life-threatening rip currents due to breaking waves up to 8 feet. * WHERE...Beaches from the northwest to northeast coast of Puerto Rico. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS... Rip currents that can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water where it becomes difficult to return to safety.

Flood Warning issued November 5 at 10:01AM AST until November 5 at 12:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall runoff at the headwaters and along Rio Espiritu Santo, Rio Mameyes and its tributaries and is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Puerto Rico, including the following county, Rio Grande. * WHEN...Until noon AST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings may be inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1001 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rains continue. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of Puerto Rico, including the following counties, Ceiba and Fajardo. * WHEN...Until 1145 AM AST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 935 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fajardo, Ceiba, Luis M. At 859 AM AST, Doppler radar continues to indicate heavy rain across the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
