...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI AND NORTH FACING SHORES OF MAUI UNTIL 6 PM HST TODAY... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI MAUI AND BIG ISLAND UNTIL 6 AM HST SATURDAY... .Exposed north and west facing shores will see a large northwest slowly declining today, falling below advisory thresholds by tonight. Strong winds will produce large east wind waves, building surf heights above advisory levels along exposed east facing shores into the weekend. * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 10 to 16 ft along north facing shores, and 8 to 12 ft along west facing shores. * WHERE...North and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai and Maui. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.

Winds will be strongest over ridges, through passes and near higher terrain. * WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong can tear off shingles, knock down tree branches, blow away tents and awnings and make it difficult to steer, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles.
