* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Hudson, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union Counties. In New York, Richmond (Staten Island) and Kings (Brooklyn) Counties. * WHEN...Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.

Special Weather Statement

Special Weather Statement issued November 17 at 6:06PM EST by NWS Upton NY

There is an elevated risk of fire spread Monday. NW winds Monday morning around 10 mph with gusts near 15 to 20 mph will increase to near 10 to 15 mph by Monday afternoon with gusts around 20 to 30 mph. Minimum relative humidity is forecast to range between 30 and 40 percent Monday. Burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery or matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette butts.
