Special Weather Statement issued November 8 at 1:56PM EST by NWS Caribou ME

At 154 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking gusty showers along a line extending from near Lille to 7 miles west of Rockwood. Movement was southeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts over 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. Wind gusts to 62 mph have been reported at the Frenchville observing site. IMPACT...Gusty winds will knock down tree limbs, could blow down trees and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Presque Isle, Caribou, Houlton, Millinocket, Dover-Foxcroft, Madawaska, Dexter, Fort Fairfield, Newport, Limestone, Van Buren, Greenville, Guilford, Howland, Patten, Eagle Lake, Brownville Junction, Mount Katahdin, Ripogenus, and Portage. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between mile markers 162 and 165, and between mile markers 213 and 304. US Highway 1 between Cary and Grand Isle. State Highway 11 between Corinna and Winterville.
