At 310 AM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Elida, or 26 miles southwest of Portales, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 308 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 16 miles southeast of Elkins, or 35 miles east of Roswell, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Mainly rural areas of the Chaves County Plains. This includes Highway 380 between Mile Markers 183 and 200.

Flash Flood Warning issued November 2 at 2:28AM MDT until November 2 at 4:00AM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

At 228 AM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in and around the city limits of Clovis and Cannon Air Force Base. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
