* WHAT...Large breaking waves of with up to 20 ft along steep NW facing beaches. * WHERE...San Francisco, Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northwest facing beaches are most at risk for large turbulent shore break and strong currents. Another round of high surf arrives Thursday, with similar impacts expected.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park Counties. * WHEN...From 10 AM Wednesday to 10 PM PST Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slick travel conditions. Snow covered roads, chain controls, and travel delays possible. These hazardous conditions may impact commutes Wednesday through Friday. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Impacts expected to arrive in two waves, with the first wave arriving on Wednesday. There will be a brief lull in precipitation Thursday morning, before resuming midday Thursday into Friday. Initial snow levels 5500-6000 feet with the first wave, before lowering to 4500-5500 feet by Friday morning.

Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Nuisance coastal flooding possible during morning high tide for NW and W-facing beaches.
