In Vermont, Bennington and Windham Counties. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulation 7 inches or more possible. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. * WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...The potential exists for a significant long duration lake effect snow event. There is considerable uncertainty in exact band placement and amounts, but multiple periods of heavy snow are possible. Travel could be very difficult to impossible with very poor visibility and deep snow cover on roads. Some major roadways could temporarily close. The hazardous conditions could impact the post-Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
