* WHAT...For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph and visibility below a quarter of a mile. For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 12 and 24 inches. * WHERE...Northwest Pocahontas and Southeast Randolph Counties. * WHEN...For the Blizzard Warning, until 10 AM EST Saturday. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 AM to 7 PM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Winds may gust as high as 50 mph through tonight. * WHERE...Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Saturday. The heaviest snow and lowest visibility are forecast through about midnight tonight. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities will drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely through this evening. Snow may transition to a period of freezing rain or drizzle late tonight into Saturday morning. Wind chills in the teens and 20s are expected through tonight.
