A band of heavier lake effect snow showers currently resides over western Antrim and Otsego counties. This band is producing heavy snow showers which is resulting in low visibilities and accumulating wet snow on roadways. These conditions are leading to hazardous travel on roadways. The band will drift northward over the next hour and eventually weaken by mid day.

Elsewhere, additional snow accumulations of around one inch or less. * WHERE...Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibility in the lake effect snow bands. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect the lake effect snowfall to pick up this afternoon when a stronger band moves onshore. Should the band remain onshore into tonight, the Winter Weather Advisory may need to be extended in time in the future.
