Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...The Highwood, Little Belt, Judith, and Snowy Mountains. * WHEN...Until 5 AM MST early this morning. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible, and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure they are prepared for dangerous conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines.

Winds gusting as high as 45 mph creating areas of blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...In Montana, Pryor/Northern Bighorn Mountains. In Wyoming, Northeast Bighorn Mountains. * WHEN...Until 11 AM MST this morning. * IMPACTS...Recreation in the high country will be impacted by heavy accumulating snow. Travel could be very difficult on US-14. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and recently burned timber. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snowfall will be on north and northwest facing slopes to the north of Burgess Junction.

Travel could be very difficult from Harlowton through Judith Gap. Widespread blowing snow could produce near whiteout conditions at times. The hazardous conditions could impact this evening and Wednesday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snowfall will be in the higher foothills of the Little Belt and Big Snowy mountains.
