...A Red Flag Warning is now in effect from 9 AM until 7 PM Today for portions of southern Colorado... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 221, 222, 226, 227, 228 and 229. * TIMING...From 9 AM this morning to 7 PM MDT this evening. * WINDS...Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 7 percent. * IMPACTS...Any Fires that start will spread quickly. Any outdoor burning is strongly discouraged across all of southeast and south central Colorado today.

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 9 PM MDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 253 Kit Carson. * WINDS...North 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 92. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

...BREEZY AND DRY OVER NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO TODAY... ...WINDY CONDITIONS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS SATURDAY ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST COLORADO... Gusty west/northwest winds will spread across the region Saturday, strongest in the high country and areas within 50 miles of the Wyoming and Nebraska state lines. Very dry conditions are expected, with minimum humidity of 8-12% across the lower elevations, and 10-18% in the high country below 10,000 ft. Temperatures will also remain very warm, well above seasonal averages and locally near daily records. Given vegetation has dried significantly in recent weeks, this combination of factors will lead to widespread critical fire weather conditions across the region from late morning through early evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 211, 212, 213, 214, 215 and 218. * TIMING...From 10 AM to 7 PM MDT Saturday. * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up 35 mph this afternoon. On Saturday, winds increase to 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
