At 443 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Newbold, or 8 miles northwest of Rhinelander, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 30 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Eagle River, Newbold, Crystal Lake Scout Reservation, Rainbow Flowage, Sugar Camp, Conover, Lake Tomahawk, Mc Naughton, Luna-White Deer Campground, and Franklin Lake Campground.

Air Quality Alert

Air Quality Alert issued September 19 at 3:34PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Ozone which will remain in effect until 11:00 PM CDT tonight. This advisory affects people living in the following counties: Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan. Due to weather conditions conducive for ozone, the air quality index is expected to reach the UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS level. People with lung disease (such as asthma), children, older adults, and people who are active outdoors (including outdoor workers) should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.
