Intense low pressure system expected to pass by Nova Scotia Thursday night. A low pressure system containing the remnants of tropical storm Oscar will track east of Nova Scotia Thursday night. At this time, the heaviest rain and strongest winds are expected to stay off shore of Cape Breton Island as the low passes by, with some rain bands and moderate wind gusts affecting the Island Thursday night and Friday morning. However, should the low track slightly further west than currently expected, much heavier rain and stronger winds will impact the area. Environment Canada meteorologists will continue to keep a close eye this system as it develops and approaches the region. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
